Privacy Policy — Panchang: Hindu Calendar

Panchang: Hindu Calendar (“the app”) is published by Gaurav Jeet Singh (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the app handles on Android and iOS. The short version: your panchang is computed on your device; we run no servers of our own and never sell your data.

Location

The app’s purpose is astronomically accurate Hindu calendar timings for your exact location. To do that it uses your device’s location (precise and approximate), only while you use the app, and only if you grant permission.

• Your coordinates are stored on your device and used there to compute sunrise, tithi, muhurat and festival timings. They are not uploaded to us — we have no servers.
• Location is optional: you can instead search for your city by name, and the app uses that city’s published coordinates.
• If a calculation fails and a diagnostic report is sent (see Crash reports below), any coordinate attached is first rounded to one decimal place — roughly an 11 km area — never your exact position.

Analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used (for example, that a festival screen was opened). These events contain no precise location, no names, and no contact details. Firebase’s own processing is described in Google’s privacy documentation.

Crash reports

We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash and error reports so we can fix defects. Reports include device model, OS version, and app state at the time of the failure. As above, coordinates in these reports are rounded to ~11 km before leaving the device.

Advertising (free tier)

The free tier shows ads served by Google AdMob. This version of the app requests non-personalized ads only — ads are never targeted using a profile of your interests. Where consent regulations apply (for example the EEA and UK), the app still presents Google’s consent dialog before any ad is loaded. AdMob may use your device’s advertising identifier for purposes such as limiting how often you see the same ad and preventing fraud.

• Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads.
• iOS: the app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not track you across other companies’ apps; you can additionally limit ad personalization in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.

Premium subscribers see no ads.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). We never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat solely to check your subscription status so the app can unlock premium features.

What we do NOT collect

Names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, calendars, photos, files, microphone audio, health data, or messages. The app has no account system.

Data deletion

Uninstalling the app deletes all on-device data (your locations, settings and cached calculations). To request deletion of analytics or crash data tied to your device’s identifiers, email us at appsbygaurav@gmail.com and we will forward the deletion request to Firebase.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.

We will update this page when the policy changes and update the effective date above.
